History and visit the Place du Tertre in Paris
Place du Tertre is located in the middle of Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. It is placed at an altitude of 130 meters, in the vicinity of St. Peter’s church in Montmartre and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. It begins at the Norvins street and ends at the rue du Mont Cenis. It measures 359 meters long and 212 meters wide. The creation of this site was made in 1772. The current name of this place was given in 1830 and is in reference to the small hill mound. It is served by the metro Anvers and Abbesses, but also by the Montmartrobus that part of the Place Pigalle and serves all important places in Montmartre.
Place du Tertre was always a very popular artists in the 20th century as Picasso and Utrillo place. She was known as the crossroads of modern art.
