History of Bry-Sur-Marne
Mentioned for the first time in the “Charles the Bald charter of 861”, the town of Bry-Sur-Marne had a church in 1130. The history of the town in the Middle Ages is closely linked to crossing point of the Marne. Nearby, it consisted of fields, woods, vines and meadows. Other infrastructures followed, such as the trams of line 3 of the Nogentais railways, which have served the city directly since 1888, as well as subdivision projects. The city also witnessed the historic events that affected Paris like the Battle of Champigny.
Significantly devastated, monuments such as stations were rebuilt between 1920 and 1940. On the other hand, the rehabilitation of Saint-Camille Hospital was interrupted by the Second World War before being inaugurated in 1952. In the 1970s, other tracks were built such as the A4 motorway and line A of the Île-de-France RER. Since then, several development operations have largely contributed to transforming the landscape of the town. To tour the city, we provide professionally trained drivers.
