Historically, Haussmann’s work allowed the opening of the Boulevard in 1863. It initially spread out to Boulevard de Rochechouart, crossed the ancient village of Clignancourt. In 1882, a portion on its side was called Boulevard Barbès. It was named in honor of Philippe Antoine d’Ornano, who was a French soldier and politician.
